Affiliate Marketing Ideas

My first computer was a DOS machine. It operated on a floppy disk OS and had a whopping 2 MB of RAM with a 1200 kps dial up modem. I followed the evolution until now with my latest computer, an Intel dual core 2.8 CPU with Windows XP Pro, 4gigs of RAM, and three 80 gig hard drives. It is like going from a covered wagon to a 747 airliner.

This was all supposed to make life and work easier for me, but it seems in fact that my life has become more complicated and I hardly have time to eat now. I am running about 40 applications running and sometimes forget which is which.

Over the years I have tried hundreds of “make money” programs, wasted countless hours and thousands of dollars only to confirm the fact that 97% of people trying to make money on the net do not. I was one of them. I have finally realized that most of the get rich quick schemes are only putting money in the pockets of the sellers.

I kept seeing Albert Einstein’s quote: “The definition of insanity is to keep doing the same thing and expecting different results” popping up here and there, but thought trying the same programs sold by a different person was not doing the same thing. I do not know why it was so hard for me to admit that what I was doing just was not working.

I suppose part of it was because I was getting older and need to do something to bring in extra income. Jobs were getting harder to keep and harder to find. I kept hoping to find the “magic” bullet that was going to put thousands of dollars into my bank account. But they just kept taking money out instead.

As the years went by it turned from need to desperation. I was forced to retire and could not live on my small SSA check. I began signing up for every “new” launch and program that came along, only to find they are all just more “sucker bait”.  Sign up for free, and then get hit with a dozen more “can’t do business without them” offers. The reason they are offering the “new” is because the old was not working.

The answer I found was to stop signing up for all the get rich stuff and go with some thing established and proven to make money. I now have a software program that allows me to type in the website and see what is happening. It is interesting to see many hyped websites have little traffic so I stay away from them. I am now going with simple step-by-step build slow and steady programs that have patience an old dog like me who just does not always get it.

The turning point for me was to learn to build a content rich, information-filled website that holds peoples interest without a lot of hype. Google seems to like this as well and the traffic is building. I am ready to start “monetizing” (offering stuff for sale) with and eye on what people are looking for rather than what I want to sell.

I spent years struggling with emotional problems, fears and things like being overweight. I tried about everything. Counseling, prescriptions, diets, you name it. Then I read a book on hypnosis and decided to try that. Here is a synopsis of:

    My Experience with Hypnosis

Hypnosis is a name given to a natural function of our minds. This curios part of our make up is present in animals as well. It is described as misdirected or redirected attention.

We all have had the experience of our minds distracted while engaged in something and became oblivious to what we were doing. For instance, putting something away while distracted and cannot remember where we put it. Driving along daydreaming and wake up to the fact we missed our turn off. Engrossed in something and forgetting an appointment. Self-hypnosis is often done without realizing we are doing it.

Birds and small animals can be hypnotized by a snake or other predator to the point they are immobilized and cannot move. Both persons and large animals often freeze when confronted by danger and cannot move. No one really knows how or why this works, but it is a fact of life.

Many have studied this function and have learned how to implement it for many different purposes. Stage hypnosis is used for entertainment. Clinical hypnosis is used for sedating persons who are too frail to use anesthesia and for some counseling situations.

Self hypnosis is easily learned and can be done almost anywhere.
Clinical hypnosis should only be used by trained, reputable therapists, because it can have bad results when misused. It is not something one learns by simply reading a book. A person interested in this needs to go to a qualified school and spend the required time there getting instruction. This can take many months or even years depending on the level of training.

The reality is that a person can actually be helped with hypnosis if they want to be. But the truth is a person cannot be made to go against their belief system or do something harmful to themselves. People from all walks of life have quit smoking, lost weight, passed exams and various other things. I myself have lost weight when I just could not get rid of it otherwise. I have been guided into regression to remember forgotten things and uncover painful memories that were hindering my life. Stage hypnosis is often used by amateurs for fun and games.

Hypnosis does often remove inhibitions and allow people to do things they really want to do. When fear or public opinion stands in their way, hypnosis can help them overcome it. Subconscious feelings of inadequacy can be removed, allowing a person to better function. People needing to study have been known to better focus using hypnosis. People struggling with addictions, smoking, overweight, etc, can be helped. It is in a fact a useful tool, but is not a magic bullet or cure all. However, it did in fact, work for me.
